What is Kratom?
Let’s begin by explaining what kratom is. Kratom is a Southeast Asian tree from the coffee (Rubiaceae) family that grows in tropical jungle areas and has large leaves. These leaves were traditionally chewed by farmers and rubber-tappers to help them keep up their strength and energy throughout the day.
Today, the popularity of kratom has spread throughout the Western world and can be used to produce a variety of aromatic effects.
How are the Different Strains of Kratom Obtained?
When we talk about different kratom strains, we are referring to varieties of kratom leaf that are harvested in different countries, regions, and climates. The leaves themselves can be harvested at different points of maturity, with the youngest leaves having a red tinge, changing to green when mature, and a brownish color when past maturation.
The various strains are said to have different effects, which we have listed for you in the table above. Our information comes from local sources who have been using this herb traditionally or in shamanic practices since as early as the nineteenth century and before.
Which Strain Should I Try First?
While everyone’s preferences vary, the smooth and relaxing Bali kratom is a mainstay in almost every kratom connoisseur’s collection. Choosing a kratom strain comes down to buying a few different kratom strains and using each, which in turn can also help prevent adjusting to any one particular aroma.
