This turns out to be perfect help for me at night. I mix a teaspoon of Red Vein Sumatra in flavored water and drink just before I go to bed. I sleep better than I have in six years but if I need to wake up there is no problems, I get up, then back to sleep in less than a minute.

Recognizing that one’s response to kratom (or almost anything) will have a big individual component, the Red Sumatra is my favorite Red so far — though I am new to kratom and have only tried a handful of Reds. For me, while close, it is not quite as sedating as the Horned Red, though the added element of mood elevation/”euphoria” is usually a big plus for me (when I want a similar relaxing effect without the euphoria, I go for the Horned Red). A very nice nighttime fragrance, and also handy in small amounts for balancing out some of the White Vein strains during the daytime.

Red Sumatra has been one of the varieties I’ve used. This variety works well with, or alternated with, Horned White, Maeng Da Indo, or Green Borneo.
