Akuamma Whole Seeds
About Akuamma Seeds
Akuamma seeds (also called by the formal plant name, Picralima Nitida) have been used as a natural way to relieve temporary discomfort for many generations. Native to western African nations such as Ghana, Cte d’Ivoire, Congo, Zaire and Cameroon, Akuamma seeds impact the mu opioid receptors in the brain, making them effective for those who are seeking a natural alternative to manage temporary discomfort.
The seeds are harvested from the Akuamma tree, which is fairly short and dense, making it more similar to a shrub than a tree. The fruit is cut open and the seeds are extracted by hand. They are traditionally sun-dried.
Akuamma seeds, which are sometimes called vincamajoridine, contain several powerful alkaloids, including akuammine, akuammidine, akuammicine, akuammigine, pseudo-akuammigine and pericine, amongst others. The primary alkaloid, akuammine, has a chemical structure that is very similar to mitragynine, one of the primary alkaloids contained within kratom.

Akuamma seeds’ effects are described as opiate-like in nature, providing relief from temporary discomfort, aiding in relaxation and promoting sleep.
The appropriate akuamma seed dosage will vary depending upon your level of discomfort and tolerance level. The typical dosage averages between 1 and 4 seeds (or more, depending upon seed size).
It’s generally best to start with one seed and if the desired effects are not achieved within 30 minutes, opt for an additional seed. You can use this process until the ideal effects are achieved.
The seeds can be broken into small chunks and swallowed just as you might swallow a pill or capsule. You can also grind the akuamma seeds into a powder, which can then be placed into a capsule. Akuamma seeds do have a very bitter taste, so most prefer these dosing methods to avoid experiencing the bitterness.
